Basilica Hudson and The Creative Independent are proud to once again present Basilica SoundScape: A Weekend of Music + Art, this year hosted at the gorgeous outdoor venue PS21 Performance Spaces for the 21st Century in Chatham, NY and in collaboration with H0l0.

In keeping with its reputation as “the anti-festival,” Basilica SoundScape will continue to push the boundaries of how attendees traditionally experience festival-going, this year welcoming headliners as Artists In Residence to collaborate and create musical sets unique to Basilica SoundScape. With the complete schedule still to be announced, the Artists in Residence will be the core to the weekend and perform both Friday and Saturday evening, offering site-specific inspired work as other local musicians and poets flesh out the rest of the programming. Basilica SoundScape aims to foster an environment that encourages these artists to tap into true creative freedom without limits and to immerse themselves in a weekend in Upstate NY.

The venue PS21 is an idyllic haven, with an open-air pavilion, breathtaking 100-acre campus and unmatched physical and environmental assets including apple orchards and trails that create a serene weekend location to meditate on the meaning of soundscape and performance.

H0l0, a Ridgewood Queens based music and performance venue, will curate a series of ambient after parties. The sets will be interactive and offer a time for reflection and repose at the end of each day of the festival.

This year's visual art is You Are Here (AKA The Maze), a sculptural maze installation by art duo TROUBLE, aka Laura Paris and Sam Hillmer. The Maze will house myriad performances over the course of SoundScape weekend and is accompanied by light, projections, sound, and sculpture.

With capacity at 500 per night, attendees are welcome to opt for a single evening, as each night will feature new sounds and experimentation. Circuit des Yeux, Moor Mother, Tomberlin, William Basinski, Elvis Perkins and Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe will perform both evenings.

Camping: Camping will be held at the newly remodeled Camp Dreem at the Meadowgreens Campground behind the Meadowgreens Golf Course, 1238 NY-9H, Ghent, NY 12075. Please note that everyone in your tent must buy their own camping pass. No dogs, please. Camping tickets can be purchased here -

Camping includes: – Restrooms, showers and electricity hookups at campground – Plenty of shade, big trees, and beautiful fields – Sauna, fire pits and grills

COVID-19 Safety Protocols: Basilica SoundScape will adhere to all NYS event regulations, which currently encourages anyone unvaccinated to wear a mask per federal CDC guidance.

Please remember that everyone is coming into SoundScape with a different level of comfort. For some, it will be the first larger gathering they've attended in over a year. Please extend compassion to your fellow SoundScape goers as we enter this new era with joy, and caution.

We will continue to diligently monitor NYS guidelines and CDC updates, and will alert you of any changes in our plans. We ask that you remain patient as we work to present the safest, best version of SoundScape 21 possible after a global pandemic. Please contact with any questions.

Presented by Basilica Hudson and PS21 in collaboration with The Creative Independent and H0l0.
