ANNA MEREDITH + LET'S EAT GRANDMA
Anna Meredith / Let's Eat Grandma / XAM Duo
Beacons Metro (formerly known as Beacons) is back and they’re not sparing the big names. Spread across Leeds’ finest venues from October 28th to November 7th, the bill is crammed with huge headliners and the freshest emerging talent.
When Foals pick one of your tracks as their walk on music you know you're doing something right.
Anna Meredith studied music at York University before joining the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra as a composer, first coming to widespread attention through a piece she composed for the 2008 Last Night Of The Proms.
Her debut album Varmints showcases her expansive electronic tracks that place space-age samples over thumping bass and endless imagination. Penned as "Vibrant and Kaleidoscopic" by DIY, "Silly, striking and smart" by The Guardian and given 8.4 by Pitchfork, a first album can't get higher praise.
Joined by experimental duo Let’s Eat Grandma, whose debut LP was praised by Line Of Best Fit as "one of the most intoxicating, inventive and original records of the year", the two acts are set to shine at Belgrave Music Hall on November 1st.
