CREATURE Palermo vi invita a cinque date che abbinano a cinque esibizioni di alcuni dei DJ più intriganti del circuito club berlinese cinque live all’avanguardia, che raccolgono alcuni degli stimoli più irriverenti e allucinatori per pensare la musica elettronica adesso.

MASSIMILIANO PAGLIARA (DE)

Nato a Tricase (Lecce), Massimiliano Pagliara approda prima a Milano e poi a Berlino, dove lavora nella danza contemporanea prima di cominciare a suonare nel 2003. Da allora, con il suo mix eclettico di house, disco, electro e techno, ha suonato in tutto il mondo e presso alcune delle realtà più importanti dell’underground tedesco – tra queste Tape Club, SchwuZ, Tresor, ://aboutblank, Robert Johnson, e naturalmente Berghain/Panorama Bar dove è stato resident. Dal 2011 pubblica su label come Live At Robert Johnson, Ostgut Ton and Permanent Vacation, sulla quale è uscito anche il suo ultimo album See You In Paradise (2022). In Massimiliano Pagliara c’è una continua brama di dialogo – nelle sue collaborazioni e nei suoi lavori solo, nei suoi dj set, nella sua label Funnuvojere e a livello personale: nel suo lavoro il ballo, il movimento e la comunicazione sono sempre radicati e profondamente interconnessi. 

AJ PAIN (UK)

AJ Pain è il nome di un’azienda di smaltimento rifiuti nel Sud-Est di Londra oltre che l’alias musicale del compositore e artista visivo  Stanislav Iordanov. La sua prima performance, Enchained, risale al 2017 al club Ormside Projects e il suo primo album, U-Heads, è uscito sulla label londinese A Colder Consciousness nel 2019. Nel 2021 ha pubblicato un trittico video, AJ Pain Live at MOT Nov 2021. Ha collaborato storicamente con artisti come Hype Williams, Bo Khat Eternal Troof Family Band e John T. Gast. Dal 2021 fa parte del collettivo teatrale tedesco BRUCH, e nel 2022 ha co-programmato il quarto evento della serie Between al Kunstverein München. Al momento, AJ Pain suona come la lava, o il plasma.

CREATURE Palermo invites you to five dates pairing five performances from some of the most intriguing DJs from the Berlin club scene to five cutting-edge live sets that pick up some of the most irreverent and hallucinatory invitations to think electronic music now. 

MASSIMILIANO PAGLIARA (DE)

Born in Tricase (Lecce), Massimiliano Pagliara moved to Milan and then to Berlin to pursue a career in contemporary dance before beginning to DJ in 2003. Ever since, with his eclectic mix of house, disco, electro and techno, he's been spinning records across the world as well as some of the most popular underground venues in Germany – among them Tape Club, SchwuZ, Tresor, ://aboutblank, Robert Johnson, and of course Berghain / Panorama Bar, where he held a residency. Since 2011 he has been releasing his own music on labels such as Live At Robert Johnson, Ostgut Ton and Permanent Vacation, including his most recent work See You In Paradise (2022). There's an ongoing lust for dialogue in Massimiliano Pagliara – through his collaborations and solo productions, his DJ sets, with his own music label Funnuvojere or on a personal level: in his work, dance, movement and communication are deeply rooted and interconnected.

AJ PAIN (UK)

AJ Pain is a waste disposal company in southeast London, as well as the music alias of visual artist and composer Stanislav Iordanov. The first AJ Pain performance, Enchained, took place at Ormside Projects in 2017. His album U-Heads issued on London label A Colder Consciousness in 2019. This was followed by a triptych video-release, AJ Pain Live at MOT Nov 2021. He has historical affinities with the band Hype Williams, Bo Khat Eternal Troof Family Band and John T. Gast. Since 2021 he has been part of German theatre collective BRUCH, and in 2022 he co-programmed the fourth iteration of Between at Kunstverein München in November 2022. At the moment AJ Pain sounds like lava or plasma.
