Cardiff's Gwenno, formerly of discerning pop psych The Pipettes, now blends crisp in sound, psych in vibe synth-pop under her own name. Her latest release, second LP, Le Kov, boasts Cornish fluency, with all important chat about none other than the importance of cheese. With monotone beginnings, before bustlingly colourful choruses, each song is a euphoric clamour of chords delivered with urgency and euphoria.
With a voice consistently melting confidently over twinkling beats, her musical output skips between genres, with Time Out describing it as "the sound of the m4 meeting the autobahn".
Live she's an enigma. Witness for yourself.
