CREATURE Palermo vi invita a cinque date che abbinano a cinque esibizioni di alcuni dei DJ più intriganti del circuito club berlinese cinque live all’avanguardia, che raccolgono alcuni degli stimoli più irriverenti e allucinatori per pensare la musica elettronica adesso.

CURSES (DE)

Con un suono che affonda le radici nella New Wave, nel lato oscuro della Italo Disco e nell’EBM intervallato dalla sua voce fantasmatica, Curses, di base a Berlino, porta un coté romantico alla dancefloor: che si tratti di un dj set al Circoloco DC-10 o di un live a un festival come il Nuits Sonores, le sue performance sprigionano un’energia punk intessendo la nostagia eterea degli anni ‘80 e ‘90 al futuro del presente. Dopo il debutto Romantic Fiction (2018) sulla Dischi Autunno di Jennifer Cardini, le sue release sono apparse su Permanent Vacation, Bordello A Parigi, Oráculo Records e Wrong Era, oltre a un doppio vinile  (NEXT WAVE ACID PUNX) sulla belga N.E.W.S.

LA SANTA (IT/UK)

Il compositore, sound designer e artista multimediale Carlo Ascrizzi, che vive e lavora tra Londra e la sua Calabria, è conosciuto per le sue colonne sonore inquietanti e distopiche e per il suo sound design preciso e dettagliato. È il co-fondatore dell’etichetta wannamarchi.club e dal 2016 scrive e si esibisce sotto l’alter ego sperimentale Nokuit. Il suo progetto La Santa è una mistura di canti di morte cerimoniali, intercettazioni telefoniche, e rituali di iniziazione nato da un collage sonoro di una collezione di dischi ereditata; la prima tape de La Santa, Pax Mafiosa, è uscita nel 2018 sulla londinese Broken Britain Cassettes.

CREATURE Palermo invites you to five dates pairing five performances from some of the most intriguing DJs from the Berlin club scene to five cutting-edge live sets that pick up some of the most irreverent and hallucinatory invitations to think electronic music now. 

CURSES (DE)

Blending New Wave, the darker side of Italo-Disco and flashes of EBM with his own ghostly vocals, Berlin-based Curses brings a romantic edge to the dance floor: whether it's DJng in the main room at Circoloco DC-10 or performing live at festivals like Nuits Sonores, Curses makes performances infused with a punk energy that threads  the ethereal nostalgia of the 80s and 90s into the future of now. Following the debut Romantic Fiction (2018) on Jennifer Cardini's Dischi Autunno, Curses has released on Permanent Vacation, Bordello A Parigi, Oráculo Records and Wrong Era, and curated a double-LP vinyl compilation (NEXT WAVE ACID PUNX) Via Belgian powerhouse, N.E.W.S. 

LA SANTA (IT/UK)

The composer, sound designer and multimedia artist Carlo Ascrizzi, based between London and his native Calabria, is known for his unnerving music scores, dystopian soundscapes and detailed sound design. He is the co-founder of the record label wannamarchi.club and writes and performs since 2016 under the experimental alter ego Nokuit. His performance act La Santa is a concoction of ceremonial death chants, phone tappings, and initiation rituals which began from collaging samples from an inherited record collection; La Santa’s first tape, Pax Mafiosa, came out on London’s Broken Britain Cassettes in 2018.
