Releasing his The King Of Anxiety EP earlier this year, Yannick Ilunga of Camden via Cape Town caught attention for his driving hip-hop slanted tense pop, picking up a massive 8.2 on Pitchfork who called his music, “Seamless, subtle and lithe and luminously sexy.”
Announcing his debut album La Vie Est Belle / Life is Beautiful for this September with first taster Down, it takes him further away from hip-hop with a funk beat and soulful delivery.
Already highly anticipated, Petite Noir plays this September date at The Deaf Institute in support of his debut. We’re sure this show will be almost as hot as his riffs.
