**Experience the future of UK jazz at NYJO's new monthly residency at Peckham Levels.**

Each month, a different ensemble of NYJO Emerging Professionals will work with Ahnansé (Steam Down) and a special guest artist from the SE London jazz scene to create a one-off 45-minute set of original music, followed by an open jam session.

Expect bold, original music, boundary-pushing improvisation from the top emerging jazz talent in London.

With collaboration, community, and creative expression at its heart, this residency will create a space where jazz lovers of all backgrounds are welcome.

Alongside NYJO musicians, opening the series will be special guest musicians from high-energy, progressive London jazz collective Levitation Orchestra.

**About Levitation Orchestra:**

Formed in 2018 by musical director Axel Kaner-Lidstrom, Levitation Orchestra has earned a reputation as a visionary artistic collective, whose dynamic live shows have built a following which stretches beyond the UK jazz scene and across genres.

The group has developed a uniquely egalitarian approach to creativity, and their “ultimate disregard for any boundaries” has allowed them to create a perfect blend of their diverse musical influences.

Inspirations range from Alice Coltrane and Sun Ra to Stravinsky and Ravel, all blended in the mixing pot of London's heritage of sound-system musics. Expect cinematic landscapes and emotions mixed with all the energy of the vibrant new London jazz scene.
