Sometimes the best albums are lifted from the most unexpected of places. Indeed, Joan Shelley crafted her latest record Over And Even in the back of abandoned beauty parlour on the island of Thessaloniki, and the folk singer's third record gained some of the highest critical praise possible, with Pitchfork calling the album "as compelling a record as that genre has seen".
Shelley's NPR Tiny Desk Concert is a tender and beautiful window into her world for newcomers, who won't be apathetic or casual fans for long.
