The Lookout Honeys** is a rock ‘n’ roll supergroup from New York City. The band began in 2019 when artist and dancer Mexi decided to pursue a bucket list dream: embodying Iggy Pop as frontwoman for an all-female Stooges cover band. She approached drummer Carrie Kamikaze (Bikini Carwash) and tried to entice her by saying “I only need to do it once.” Carrie’s prophetic reply: “If we do this, it’s going to be more than once.” Bassist Aileen (Space Merchants, Plates of Cake) and guitarist Maega (Hekla, The Wig Outs) quickly came on board and The Lookout Honeys were gigging all over the city within months. As the foursome grew closer, the limitations of playing someone else’s songs became apparent. Ready to move in a new direction, the group began writing original tunes during the lockdown era and hasn’t looked back. The Lookout Honeys released their first EP (“X-ACTO”) in 2023 and is embarking on an international tour in May and this uppcoming February.
