Deeper Into Movies takes a deep dive into the world of Aphex Twin with music writer David Stubbs with a lecture and screenings.

Richard James, aka The Aphex Twin is at once the most well-known artist to have emerged from the UK (post) rave and Techno scene and among the most enigmatic. Ranging from Ambient to full-on, jackhammer acid outings like "Didgeridoo", the mystique he has cultivated round himself is almost impressive as his music. Why did he decide to live in an ex-bank? Does he really conceive his music in a state of lucid dreaming?

Drawing on numerous interviews David Stubbs examines the work, the myth and reality of The Aphex Twin; his Cornish origins and how they feed into his work, his videos with Chris Cunningham, his influence, significance and legacy.

Lecture will be followed by rare screenings.
