deathcrash are a rock band from London who have made a strong name for themselves in the UK band scene with their specific brand of delicate vocals coupled with slowcore instrumentals and moments of powerful, distorted guitar. They have toured nationally with Black Country, New Road, shared stages with the likes of Sorry, Squid and Lost Under Heaven, and have been championed on BBC Radio 6 Music by Steve Lamacq and on Beats1 by Matt Wilkinson. Their last headline shows at St. Pancras Old Church sold out within hours of being announced, as did their double A-side vinyl release ‘People thought my windows were stars’ and ‘Bind’ which has recently been re-pressed as well as a Japanese edition announced with Big Love Records in Tokyo.

Black Country, New Road in The Quietus - “The idea of using dynamics in different ways became an ongoing discussion after being on tour with deathcrash. Appreciating deathcrash’s mastery of dynamics turned out to be a useful lesson, coming as it did in a period where the band had got in the habit of “playing hard and loud” but also one when everyone wanted to find other ways to make the songs more “impactful.” Tyler Hyde: “It seemed so obvious, but the simple technique of using extremely quiet parts alongside extremely loud sections helped to produce progressions and narrative-like structures within the tracks. We also learnt that playing very softly or quietly allowed for different instruments to cut through.”
