Walthamstow Jazz Festival, in association with Truman's, returns for a second year, reaching across the spectrum to pull together a day of amazing music created and curated for your ears from artists at the cutting edge here in the UK and beyond. It's not every day you get a chance to bring one of Wu Tang Clan to your area, so when the chance to book U-God came up we grabbed it, and are thrilled to be bringing Golden Arms to headline Walthamstow Jazz Festival 2020 with London natives Project Karnak as his live band. This is a one-off, never to be repeated, do not miss it.
Joining U-God on the bill are established names in their field like Laura Jurd, bandleader of 2017 Mercury nominees Dinosaur, Free Jazz and improvising pioneer Evan Parker, and breakout star of the London scene Binker Golding, Danalogue and Betamax of The Comet Is Coming, combining as Soccer96, leading Bristol lights Ishmael Ensemble, and many many more, with some curveballs thrown in for good measure.
The music will be spread across two close together sites near Black Horse Road Tube station, with the main stage in a (massive) warehouse setting on Priestley Way. We're thrilled to be partnering with Truman's Brewery, who will be hosting the main stage at their new site, and to be reuniting with Perky Blenders and Dalston's Sodas again this year. And Threads Radio will be hot-footing it across the marshes from their base in the Tottenham to live stream the festival.
Expect high-grade food and drink on-site to keep you fed and watered throughout the day and into the night. More on that to come.
The 2019 edition sold out a month before the festival, so don't sleep.
Presented by Byrd Out.
This is an all ages event.
