THE XX: ON HOLD
In conjunction with The xx: Night + Day Festival, the London trio have curated a night of independent cinema screenings.
This screening includes:
12:30pm – CAT POWER: SPEAKING FOR TREES dir. Mark Borthwick (120 mins - 2004) Experimental performance video of Chan Marshall singing her own songs as well as a range of covers from the likes of Duke Ellington, Bob Dylan, Otis Redding, The Rolling Stones, and M. Ward, with only her electric guitar for company.
2:45pm - On Hold – The xx The group's beautifully shot lead single from I See You, directed by British photographer Alasdair McLellan.
2:50pm – The xx – ‘Say Something Loving’ dir. Alasdair McLellan (6 mins – 2017)
3:15pm - My Own Private Idaho (dir. Gus Van Sant) Based on Shakespeare's Henry VI and Henry V, the film follows a young Keanu Reeves and River Phoenix on a ride of self-discovery, which takes them from America to Italy.
Proceeds from tickets go to Brixton charities.
