Grammy Award-winning jazz bassist Richard Bona was first inspired to play electric bass by the late Jaco Pastorius.
The Cameroon-born artist’s balletically light-stepping runs, lazily grooving ostinatos and rhythmic eruptions are what brings in the jazz fans, but it’s Cuban, Brazilian and Caribbean dance music, afrobeat and African traditional songs gives his music a much broader appeal.
Having played with such diverse artists such as George Benson, Joe Zawinul and Chaka Khan, it’s with great pleasure that we welcome him back to our stage after a seven year absence.
Presented by The Jazz Cafe.
This is an 18+ event.
