From a tiny Irish village of less than 1000 people, it's not hard to hear the isolation and stark loneliness that weaves it's way through Lavery's most recent record Sea Legs.
Recording his past two releases in short bursts, the Kosher EP over three days one Christmas, and it's predecessor Not Nearly Dark in just two weekends, Lavery invested more time in Sea Legs and it's clear to hear, his songs glowing with warmth and beauty.
Bringing his alt-folk to London's stunning St Pancras Old Church complete with touches of Ryan Adams Americana and Lavery's voice thick with Tom Waits gravel and Leonard Cohen name drops, this is one artist who's ready to charm with limited arsenal but untold impact.
