FLOATING POINTS: REFLECTIONS SCREENING & AFTERPARTY
Floating Points originator Sam Shepherd took the band to the Mojave Desert in August 2016 to rehearse and record ahead of their US tour.
This film, Reflections (30 min dir Anna Diaz Ortuño), documents the time they spent and the music they were inspired to write there – showcasing the distinctive sonic tapestry they were able to capture in the most unusual of recording spaces. ‘While we were out playing and exploring the area around us - the sound reflecting from the rocks, the sound of the wind between them, complete stillness at night and packs of roaming coyotes in the distance, it became apparent that we could use this as its own unique recording environment.’ Sam Shepherd.
The screening of Reflections will be followed by the War Child Film Festival closing party in collaboration with party aficionados ‘Dance for Refuge’ who aim to raise awareness and funds for those in need by galvanising London DJs, dancers and music heads.
All ticket profits will be donated to War Child UK.
Presented by Dance for Refuge.
This is an 18+ event.
