Seattle’s La Luz push their self-styled surf noir to shimmering heights with intricate and striking guitar work that sheens over a strident rhythmic backbone.
Last years Weirdo Shrine was a record that mixed with fear with beauty, following on from their frantic and furious debut It’s Alive. During recording producer Ty Segall and frontwoman Shana Cleveland left in all glitches and slips, and with nothing too polished the record sounds and feels immediate.
