The San Francisco Electronic Music Festival is an artist-run organization founded in 1999 by eight local sound artists and musicians. Friday begins with **Amanda Chaudhary's** visually stunning interdisciplinary electronic work, followed by **Pedestrian Deposit's** genre-busting visceral narratives, and concludes with **Evicshen** guiding a thrilling journey of noise, sampling, synthesis, and live processing.

Victoria Shen (Evicshen) is a sound artist based in San Francisco. Shen's sound practice is concerned with the spatiality/physicality of sound and its relationship to the human body. Her personal identity—her body—is the space her work utilizes to restructure sonic meaning.

The collaborative work of Pedestrian Deposit—Shannon A. Kennedy and J. Borges—is best described as visceral and narrative; highly composed, often abstract sound textures informed by elements of experimental sound, harsh noise, musique concrète, neo-classical, dark ambient and performance art—but is not beholden to any one genre. Borges’ crude yet disciplined electronics and controlled feedback manipulation contrasts Shannon’s self-designed, physically activated sculptural instruments and extended bowing techniques, resulting in music that is both raw and refined.

Amanda Chaudhary is a composer, bandleader, electronic musician, jazz keyboardist, and visual/sound artist. She blends experimental electronic sounds with jazz, funk, dance music and other idiomatic styles into her visually captivating performances.

**Julie Herndon's** intimate *Electronic Etudes* for acoustic piano and live electronic processing are followed by **Sholeh Asgary's** future mythological excavations in movement, light, voice, and sound. Saturday concludes with **Valerio Tricoli's** stunning composition of intricate, evolving textures.

Valerio Tricoli is a composer of electroacoustic music. His concerts focus on the impromptu creation of a narrative which takes into account the relations between reality, virtuality and memory: sounds hover between the "here and now" of the concert situation and the shady domain of memory­­—distant but at the same time present like a déjà vu.

Sholeh Asgary is an interdisciplinary sound artist who researches how the auditory characteristics of a location reveal its underlying conditions and our relationship to place—echoing the near-perpetual movement across borders that characterized Asgary’s formative years. Situating the body as a site of knowledge, the work takes form as visual, sound, and collective processes.

Julie Herndon is a composer, performer and sound artist exploring the body’s relationship to sound. Her electro-acoustic work has been described as “truly brilliant” (Kulturpunkt) and “blended to inhabit a surprisingly expressive space” (San Francisco Classical Voice).

**Eddie Ruscha** (Los Angeles), has released many records over the years on respected labels, producing electronic psychedelic music in addition to creating much of the visual art to accompany it.

**Briana Marela** is a Peruvian-American composer, vocalist, and performing artist based out of Oakland, CA. Her recent music centers the voice, technology embodied through gesture, and enhanced objects. Her gestural and lyrical song performances draw from elements of both experimental electronic music and vocal-driven pop music.

**Dustin Wong** was born in Hawaii, raised in Japan, and began with bands in Baltimore with Ecstatic Sunshine and Ponytail. Wong toured the U.S. and Europe with his solo guitar experiments with loops and layering, later collaborating with Takako Minekawa on three albums.
