Its February and that can only mean one thing........its the return of Bad Valentines! VERSES Poetry Night is back with our annual poetry and spoken word event. We will be hosting live from Dona in Stoke Newington. As always, we look to bring you the best poets from across the UK and this time is no different! Performing on the night, we have:

**EMY.P**

Spoken Word artist, multi poetry slam champion and Musician born and raised in Essex. On a personal mission to raise awareness and de stigmatize the negative viewpoints surrounding mental health, Emy's honest writing approach and dark humour delves into the minds of everyday people as well as her own wired brain.

**T.M/O (she/her)**

T.M/O (rhymes with Nemo) is a Poet, a painter, and describes herself as painfully creative. Shaking up the UK spoken word scene since 2017, T.M/O is committed to shining beyond the bullshit, driven by her utter and absolute love of words.

**Af Williams**

Unthreading out of Brighton's fabric, Af Williams is a poet, musician and serial stargazer. A cornerstone of the performance collective The Bobolyne Poets, his work is a magpie's nest of personal experience; twigging on the sordid and sublime, on bitter truth and shiny dreamscapes.

We’ve been taught that as long as two people really love each other, things will work out - the important part is finding love, the rest will fall into place. Over and over again movies, songs and stories remind us of the importance of finding true love for our own happily ever after.

But is love only about finding the right person? And is the only ingredient required for a successful relationship true love? If that’s the case, then why are divorce rates ever growing? Did those marriages never truly have love or is there something more to this story than we realise?

In reality, building long-term love and success in a relationship requires more than just finding the right partner. Too much of our culture focuses on the pursuit of love without considering its substance, but falling in love and sustaining it are two different things and confusing the two can lead to heartache. Whether you are single or in a relationship, you will need the right knowledge and skills to sustain a loving relationship in the long-run. In this talk we will focus on understanding romantic love, why we need it, what’s its purpose and how to make it last in your relationship over the long-term.

Dr. Kathrine Bejanyan is a practising therapist and relationship consultant in Central London. She works with individuals and couples on love, dating and relationship issues with a focus on building deeper intimacy, connection and authenticity in their love life. Outside of her private practice, Kathrine is a speaker, consultant, as well as a lecturer in psychology. She holds a PhD in Social Psychology and a Masters in Counselling Psychology. She is an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy with a licence as a Marriage Family Therapist from the United States.

Our Movie Nights are like no other, alongside watching the movie uninterrupted on our massive (25 ft!) HD Screen, we have a whole lot more in store for you before & after the film, including The Grand’s live hosts & show team, themed cocktails, hot beige, confetti, and of course… the occasional balloon drop!

Feel free to sing-along, heckle the bad guys and cheer for your heroes, a costume is never un-appreciated (in fact we often give out prizes for the best or worst), the bar & food stalls stay open during the movie and sometimes afterwards there’s a club night to top things off!

We are afraid our Movie Nights are for over 18’s, the films might be suitable for kids, but our show teams humour might not be!

**TIMES ⏰**

Doors at 6pm and the fun starts about 7pm, we advise arrival before 6.30pm so give you time to be seated by our ushers and grab food and drink from the bars. We will close after the hour long disco finishes following the movie!

**SEATING 🪑**

Stalls & Circle seating is unreserved and allocated on a first come first served basis across these areas. Upper Circle seating is allocated first come first served basis across this area. There are as many seats as there are tickets sold so please don’t panic about getting one

**ROYAL BOXES & TABLES 👑**

Royal Boxes & Tables will be reserved for you, and we hold them all until an hour after doors open. Please notify us in advance if you’re running late as we will offer to other customers once the movie starts.

**SUBTITLES 👀**

We aim to make our Movie Nights an enjoyable experience for everyone, and will show our Movie’s with subtitles on if requested by any hard of hearing customers, please email us if this is required info@claphamgrand.com

We have a cloakroom here, which was voted in the top 5 cloakrooms in the UK for the last 10 years, and it’s £2 an item.

**PARKING / GETTING HERE 🚂 🚗 🚌**

We don’t have any parking at venue (these Victorians only had horses and carts), but we are directly opposite Clapham Junction, (Europes busiest train station!) and there are parking spaces available there from www.justpark.com and we are on so many bus routes!
