The JoGo Project is a WAMMIE Award winning band from Washington, DC that fuses many styles of music, but with jazz harmonies and a driving go-go beat at its core. JoGo was founded by D.C. native and jazz saxophonist Elijah Jamal Balbed during a residency at Strathmore in 2014. Eight years later, The JoGo Project has become a mainstay in the D.C. music community and is dedicated to keeping D.C.’s go-go music alive while also exploring new sounds and repertoire.

Shakespeare! is an unorthodox hip hop group. This duo from Los Angeles, California, are composed of Trevon Trapper and Tradessa Willis. They have been honing their skills as creatives for years and are starting to be recognized as one of the most prolific and versatile creatives in music. Combining skills as performers, songwriters, and producers, Shakespeare! is generating a strong buzz, mass anticipation, and genuine excitement.

\--Hailing from the DMV area, BDX the Don is a prolific rap artist in the early stages of his career. Coming from a musical family, artistic expression has always been a part of his upbringing. His appreciation for the finer things in life helps inspire his creative process with clever wordplay, smooth yet effortless flow, and relentless ambition. BDX’s first major project release “Expensive Taste” amassed 100,000+ streams after the single “Fly” was featured on Spotify’s Fresh Finds playlist. He is a recent graduate of rapper IDK’s No Label Academy— at Harvard University. BDX the Don plans to continue to create music that inspires him in an effort to gain a big enough of a platform to provide opportunities for the youth to chase their dreams and be themselves unapologetically, just as he has done to this day.

Saleka is an Indian American songwriter/musician/actress who began playing piano at age 4. She left behind years of classical piano training to begin pursuing R&B music at age 16. She now recalls this passion-driven, teen rebellion moment as a pivotal one as she’s on the cusp of releasing her first full-length body of work, 2023’s Séance via Range Music/Virgin Music/Capitol Records.

This debut full length incorporates her over a decade of classical training while she creates a sound both entirely new and also deeply rooted in the world of jazz, R&B, singer-songwriter, and neo soul. Each song compliments the next, the album serving as a free-flowing stream of consciousness as Saleka—who writes, produces, and plays instruments throughout—walks listeners through her experiences as if you are getting to read her personal journal.

Saleka has performed at iconic venues across the United States, opening for both R&B legends and up-and-coming artists such as Giveon, Summer Walker, Baby Rose and K. Michelle. She has also performed at Bonnaroo, ACL, Philly Music Fest and Jakarta Jazz Festival. Over the past few years, Saleka wrote several songs (EP titled Songs from The Attic) for the Apple TV+ hit, Servant, which served to portray the never seen, but omnipresent character, Vivian Dale and the beautiful song, “Remain,” which also served as narration for the M. Night Shyamalan blockbuster, OLD.
