An ex-pageant queen who makes power pop? Cue Cinema Hearts, the indie rock musical project of Washington, D.C.’s Caroline Weinroth.

Cinema Hearts’ Your Ideal EP chronicles the experience of competing in the world of Miss America pageants. A former Miss Virginia contender, Weinroth crafts songs about the loneliness, frustration and cut-throat drive it took to win, and then lose, on the glitzy pageant stage. Hear haunting harmonies soar over searing electric guitar and dreamy synthesizers produced by Bartees Strange, who also lent his hand in synths and guitar parts on the project.

North by North is the Rock & Roll dream of two weirdos from Chicago IL. Their garage-y power-pop sound has been forged through years of teen angst, twenty-something alienation, sleeping in vans and practically living on a stage. Anchored by syrupy hooks, roaring guitar and bombastic drums, North by North produces a huge sound that has captivated thousands of people over hundreds of performances and festivals around the world.

As badly as we want our trajectory to be linear and to make logical sense, sometimes life has other plans for us. We have to listen to that little voice within, whispering: rebel against the status quo. This has been the experience of singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and composer Kate Davis, where she hits the brakes on the life she thought she knew, grabbed the creative reins and rebuilt her artistic foundation. As she triumphantly walks away from her previous life as a conservatory-trained jazz musician and into her future as an experimental art-rock singer, Davis has found a new home within herself. This coming-of-age story is at the heart of Davis’ sophomore album, ‘Fish Bowl,’ coming soon via her new label home of ANTI- Records.

Boyish was formed by India Shore and Claire Altendahl in 2016. They met at Berklee College of Music when India needed a guitarist for an audition tape and Claire volunteered. Their musical compatibility quickly became apparent and they started collaborating soon after under the name “The Blue.” The duo went on to write and produce their debut project Carnation in 2018, which The New Yorker described as “looking uncertainty straight in the eye in songs that are confident in their musicality even when tackling themes of angst and doubt.” Carnation was nominated for Alt-Country Album of the Year at the Independent Music Awards.

After graduating college in 2019 and feeling the need to start over they changed their name to Boyish. They released their sophomore album Garden Spider on Valentines Day of 2020, which according to Atwood Magazine is “an immersive ten-track indulgence of introspection and inner angst channeled through a colorful, raw indie rock lens,” or as Claire calls it, a declaration of “Big Gay Sadness.” The album has amassed over 4 million streams and the title track “FUCK YOU HEATHER” was featured on editorial Spotify playlists such as “Fresh Finds Best of 2020” and “Undercurrents.”

\--Rarely does modern music earn the badge timeless, but BEL cuts through the noise. Hailing from the small town of Clovis, California, Isabel Whelan crafts nostalgic songs with honesty and attention to detail, occupying the intersection of indie, pop, and folk, while taking cues from the likes of Stevie Nicks, Joni Mitchell, and Mazzy Star.

After the 2022 release of her sophomore EP, Jet Lag, BEL landed on a handful of end-of-year “Artists to Watch” lists, and is continuing the momentum with new music in 2023. The first two singles, "Are You Okay?" and "Woman on Fire", have received ample support from Sirius XM, Pandora, Spotify, Apple, and several publications. With a 3rd EP underway and her first festival announcement, 2023 is shaping up to be an exciting year of releases and live performances for BEL.

\- Singer-songwriter Molly Burch, renowned for her captivating vocals and vivid depictions of love and loss, is back to announce an upcoming tour and the release of her most recent album, Romantic Images. Burch's tour will showcase her introspective songwriting and deliver unforgettable live performances to audiences across 18 cities starting in the birthplace of her last three albums Austin, Texas and finishing in her hometown of Los Angeles with support from Christelle Bofale. Tickets go on sale this Friday May 26th at 10am local time.

Having recently relocated to her hometown of Los Angeles, Molly Burch embarked on a personal journey informing her upcoming work. Alongside the tour dates today she's teasing a small taste of what's ahead in a new visual titled "things to come." The visual cuts between footage from the present and Molly's childhood, a small fraction of the collage of experiences that have become a catalyst for her personal growth and the project to come.

\- christelle bofale (they / she) is a songwriter / cat parent / person whose sounds blend soul, jazz, soukous (a congolese style of dance music), and indie rock. Originally from San Antonio, bofale made their debut in 2019 with the release of their 5-track EP ‘Swim Team’, via Father/Daughter Records. christelle's songs are like journal entries, exploring the various nooks and crannies of their lived experience. ‘Swim Team’ focuses on loss, broken hearts, and mental health struggles.

christelle is looking toward the future with her new writing, which sits with similar themes along with a new focus on family, childhood, and the person they have found themself to be thus far. A frequent user of the voice memo app, christelle wishes to give a small window into their life through song that hopefully can transform into a small mirror for whoever is on the receiving end.
