A night of Exotica celebrating 100 years of the great diva YMA SUMAC! Acclaimed composer EGO PLUM (Spongebob Squarepants, The Cuphead Show!, Jellystone) leads his 9-piece Latin/Gothic ensemble, MAMBO DIABOLICO, performing his Curious Cumbias & Sinister Mambos. The group features RICHARD ELFMAN (Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo) on Congas, as well as the mysterious multi-octave chanteuse, LENA MARIE CARDINALE on vocals. Mambo Diabolico will also perform a special set of Yma Sumac’s popular songs, and recently uncovered, never-before-head music from the Yma Sumac Archives composed by YMA SUMAC herself!
Los Angeles Exotica/Lounge legends HEALING GEMS will open up the show with their unique brand of Bossa Nova/Trash Lounge. DJ TELEVANDALIST will be spinning Space Age Bachelor Pad Music and the In Sounds from the Way Out! The evening will also feature historic images, videos, stories, and more from the Yma Sumac Archives. An event not to be missed!
