**THE VEILS**

The Veils reviennent en Europe et au Royaume-Uni en janvier et février 2025, pour célébrer Asphodels, leur septième album studio.

Le titre de l'album tire son nom de la fleur des Enfers de la Grèce antique et, dans les paroles, Andrews puise davantage dans les grands poètes que dans le puits des auteurs-compositeurs de rock and roll plus traditionnels. C'est un disque qui possède la confiance tranquille et durement gagnée de la retenue et qui choisit soigneusement ses moments pour élever sa voix et hurler jusqu'aux cieux.

Depuis qu'ils ont été signés par Rough Trade Records alors que le chanteur Finn Andrews n'avait que 16 ans, The Veils ont sorti sept albums studio : The Runaway Found (2004), Nux Vomica (2006), Sun Gangs (2009), Time Stays, We Go (2013), Total Depravity (2016), ...And Out Of The Void Came Love (2023) et Asphodels (2025). Le premier album solo de Finn, One Piece At A Time, est sorti en 2019.​

The Veils n'a cessé de tourner tout au long de ses plus de vingt ans d'existence et s'est forgé une formidable réputation en tant que groupe de scène de premier plan. Outre une collaboration fructueuse avec El-P de Run the Jewels pour leur album Total Depravity en 2016, ils ont également été encensés par les réalisateurs Paolo Sorrentino, Tim Burton et David Lynch, qui ont tous utilisé leur musique dans leurs bandes originales.​​

Finn vit aujourd'hui à Aotearoa, en Nouvelle-Zélande, avec sa compagne et sa fille.

Since being signed to Rough Trade Records when lead singer Finn Andrews was just 16 years old, The Veils have now released seven studio albums: The Runaway Found (2004), Nux Vomica (2006), Sun Gangs (2009), Time Stays, We Go (2013), Total Depravity (2016), ...And Out Of The Void Came Love (2023), and Asphodels (2025). Finn’s debut solo album One Piece At A Time was released in 2019. The Veils have toured consistently throughout their over twenty-year history and garnered a formidable reputation as one of the world’s great live bands. As well as a fruitful collaboration with Run the Jewels’ El-P for their 2016 album Total Depravity, they have also been praised by film directors Paolo Sorrentino, Tim Burton and David Lynch who have all used their music on their soundtracks.

Finn now lives in Aotearoa New Zealand with his partner and daughter.

The Veils sono una band indie Neozelandese nata a Londra nel 2001. Il frontman è Finn Andrews, figlio di Barry Andrews, ex tastierista di XTC e League of Gentlemen e fondatore del gruppo Shriekback.
