Consisting of groundbreaking producer, NK-OK and the formidable multi-instrumentalist, Mr. DM, Blue Lab Beats is one of the fastest-rising production duos in the world right now. The pair seamlessly fuse Jazz, Hip-hop, Afrobeats, Soul and Electronica genres whilst representing a talented generation of musicians coming out of the United Kingdom. The young friends started out as bedroom producers, remixing tracks from A-listers such as Dua Lipa and Rag’N’Bone Man. Fully immersed in their art, they grew into something far more potent - crafting a supple, wide-ranging sound inspired by pioneers of Jazz and Hip-hop, and the music of the African diaspora while staying true to their London roots.

Driven by drummer **Tim Cook (TC)** and fronted by Sheffield wordsmith Franz Von, their live shows are powerful and dynamic, creating moments of both euphoria and stillness to keep audiences on their toes. Originally formed in Leeds, their sound reflects the diverse musical and cultural backgrounds at the core of the project, with songs exploring grooves and genres including afrobeat, broken beat, jungle, jazz and grime.*

*Building on the success of early singles, debut album 'First Home' and follow up EP ‘We Have Each Other’ found support from tastemakers including Jamz Supernova, Gilles Peterson and Craig Charles on BBC Radio 6. They’ve also had strong backing from BBC Introducing and Jazz FM, being hand-picked to play the BBC Introducing stage at Latitude 2024. The band have supported the likes of K.O.G, Nubiyan Twist and Yussef Dayes en route to becoming one of the most sought after live acts on the UK jazz circuit. Notable festival performances include Glastonbury, We Out Here, Greenman, Boomtown and WOMAD, and the group have built a steady fanbase, selling out venues including London’s iconic Jazz Café and Leeds’ Brudenell Social Club.*
