A deadly double bill of icy EBM and electro for February as legendary Detroit synth duo ADULT. play Brew as part of their European tour. With releases going back to 2001, ADULT. have channelled electro, techno, punk, and darkwave into kinetic and unsettling sound, with output spanning hard-edged club tracks, classic EBM, sinister synth workouts and horror films. Using their own photography for their sleeve designs, their discography is one of the most visually idiosyncratic and instantly recognisable around, at once humorous, experimental and dark.

Joining them is LA's Spike Hellis, with their fresh spin on minimal EBM blasted with dark, experimental pop, new beat, techno & freestyle, shot through with disenchantment and sarcasm - one of the most exciting new acts in the scene and with a hard-hitting live show.

With over 25 years working together and a sprawling discography to show for that labor, Adam Lee Miller and Nicola Kuperus have spent their career as ADULT. obscuring any defined genre or style, writing and recording albums as art for life’s sake. On their current album, the group are back at it with some discordant, doom dance sludge to mark their 9th studio album Becoming Undone on DAIS Records. Written between November 2020 and April 2021, the album might be the bands most non-conformant yet. Sure there’s plenty of dance bangers, but ultimately the album is riddled with impermanence, loss and looping dissatisfactions. ADULT. have released their last three albums on Dais, as well as releasing in the past on MUTE, Ghostly International, Thrill Jockey, Jack White’s Third Man, ADULT.’s own Ersatz Audio and more…).

In 2017, ADULT. released their sixth album “Detroit House Guests” on MUTE Records. This project was funded through a Knight Arts grant which allowed them to collaborate with six guest artists: Dorit Chrysler (NY Theremin Society), Shannon Funchess (Light Asylum), Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe (Lichens, Candyman 2021), Michael Gira (Swans), Lun•na Menoh (Les Sewing Sisters) and Douglas McCarthy (Nitzer Ebb). Philip Sherburne for Pitchfork writes “On their first album in four years, \[ADULT.\] curate a highly collaborative record that is richer and stranger than anything they’ve done before. It’s unusually electrifying.”

ADULT. have remixed the likes of LIARS, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, John Foxx, Barry Adamson and Death in Vegas, to name a few. Their most recent release is a collaborative 7” with Planet B (featuring Justin Pearson of The Locust and Deaf Club & Luke Hensaw of Sonido de la Frontera.

Avec plus de 23 ans d'existence et une discographie tentaculaire, Adam Lee Miller et Nicola Kuperus ont passé l'intégralité de leur carrière en tant qu'ADULT. Avec une histoire aussi étrange que celle d'ADULT, les morceaux qui composent Perception is/as/of Deception peuvent être perçus comme leur travail le plus punk et le plus introspectif à ce jour. ADULT. Detroit, Michigan, formato nel 1998 dalla coppia Nicola Kuperus e Adam Lee Miller. La band integra la voce con drum machine, sintetizzatori analogici ed elementi elettronici/punk. Con oltre 25 anni di lavoro insieme e una discografia tentacolare, Adam Lee Miller e Nicola Kuperus hanno trascorso la loro carriera come ADULT. oscurando qualsiasi genere o stile definito, pionieri dell’electroclash, la loro è un’elettronica che affonda le radici nella new wave, nella dance e nella scena estetico-artistica della seconda metà degli Anni Settanta.

SPIKE HELLIS Il duo elettronico di Los Angeles Spike Hellis è composto da Cortland Gibson e Lainey, insieme dal 2019. Hanno autoprodotto il loro primo album completo omonimo nell'aprile 2022, sotto la loro etichetta Over-Pop. Hanno condiviso il palco con artisti come Kontravoid, Choir Boy, Soft Kill, Twin Tribes. Con disincanto e sarcasmo, Spike Hellis annuncia il suo arrivo.
