\------BRIAN GROGAN------Irish-born // London based guitar folk-pop artist Brian Grogan has been exploring the London music scene for several years, finding and working with the best talent the city has to offer. These musicians have come together to collaborate on a new record with fellow countryman Fiachra Mac Oriechtai (Fjokra, Lazy Habits) producing over the past year. They assembled a bunch of material, that has been unveiled single by single this year.

Multi-instrumentalist Grogan was brought up on Irish folk music from his Grandfather Frank who would later give him a hand me down fiddle to play for himself. From there he has turned his hand to several other instruments, playing guitar, bass, piano and even drums for a number of musical projects and discovering a love for iconic rock bands such as Red Hot Chilli Peppers. It was 12 years ago, playing drums for Belfast-based band Maguire and I, when he realised his true passion lies in writing and performing original material. Encouraged by the main songwriter of the project Andy Good, Brian decided to pick up the pen for himself, moving to London to start his journey as a solo recording artist.

It was in the thick of the London music scene where Brian truly began to develop his craft. He made it his mission to learn every song from the discography of John Mayer to improve his guitar playing, but more was learnt from collaborating with the great musicians that he would meet whilst performing at every open mic he could find out about.

You would struggle to find a musician as hard working as Brian, with him performing regular events from Sofar Sounds shows through to the Ruby Sessions in Dublin.

\----ANN LIU CANNON-----Ann Liu Cannon is a musician and songwriter, dabbling in folk revival, blues, jazz, and a distinctive production and song writing style. From a background of classical music, musical theatre, and a love of literature, Ann started singing her stories after teaching herself the guitar and piano. Her debut single, 'Stranger in the Rain', produced by Ethan Johns (Paul McCartney, Tom Jones, Laura Marling) and released by indie label and venue Spiritual Records (Ferris & Sylvester, Jade Bird, Jack Broadbent) is out now. Ann says she draws the most inspiration from late Talking Heads albums, Joanna Newsom, and Sufjan Stevens. She is in the process of recording her debut album with Ethan.

\------- REEMA --------Recently relocated back to Brighton from Berlin, singer-songwriter, Reema, creates bitter-sweet, delicate folk songs with lyrics that explore being human. Her themes run through self-esteem and learning to enjoy others greatness to coping with loss to the importance of kindness. Her deeply personal concerts are all about communicating with her audience, sharing stories and often tears.

Reema has a hand­made approach, not only to her music, but also in her artwork and stage clothing printed from her paintings of animals, plants and swirling patterns. She has worked with great producers like Stephen Street And Ethan Johns and has written songs for film ‘Love Rosie’ and the ‘Twilight Eclipse’ soundtrack. Her first releases were live, analogue and computer-free vinyl records, ‘The Lowswing Sessions’ and 'Memories Fade to Tape' with arrangements by award-winning producer, Guy Sternberg. The records both sold out on their release dates. Reema then released her 2 digital EPs , ‘Lioness’ and ‘Rooftops and Riversides.’

The EPs were created live with bass clarinet, clarinet, flute and trombone and little accents of trumpet and percussion with production and arrangements by her bandmate and close friend, Stefan Baumann. The minimal approach made sure the songs and their messages are right at the front of the production. It is an uncut and honest look into Reema’s heart- felt song writing and clear, glass‐like vocals.

They were well received with radio play in both the UK and Germany from BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio Ulster, Scala FM, Talk Radio, NDR Kultur, HR2 and Radio Eins.

Reema is now working on her next record with Night House’s Nick Williams on production delving into electronic soundscapes with beautiful organic accents.
