We are celebrating 20 years of The Hold Steady by throwing the inaugural Positive Jam Festival on Saturday August 5th at Arrowood Farms in Accord, NY. We will be joined by a slew of friends and favorite artists: Guided By Voices, The Tallest Man On Earth, Laura Stevenson, I Get Wild (plays Talking Heads) and Oceanator.

Positive Jam will be a special day for The Hold Steady community, an all-day event for the family filled with terrific music, outstanding food, a variety of drink options and arts-lifestyle vendors. The event is limited capacity (just larger than one night at Brooklyn Bowl), so make plans now.

General Admission ticket ($125) gets you into the festival and the schedule of events.

There is a limited VIP ticket ($250) which includes access to a VIP viewing area in front of the stage, access to indoor restrooms, complimentary hors d’oeuvres, beer specials, and a THS-signed festival poster with event tote bag.

Arrowood Farms is a sustainably-minded farm, brewery, distillery and event destination in the beautiful and bountiful Ulster County, about two hours drive from New York City. Arrowood Farms and Impact Concerts have partnered to produce numerous music and lifestyle events including Woodsist Festival, Dirt Farmer Festival, Felice County Fair and Follow The Arrow Festival.

It’s one thing to start it with a Positive Jam, it’s another thing to see it all through. And we couldn’t have even done this if it wasn’t for you.

Some guy Galen went to high school with once sagely said, “Prelims are the essence of partying”. In early THS years, Gales shared this wisdom with us and it’s been an inside joke ever since - repeated a million times in vans, clubs, and hotels all over the world during The Hold Steady’s 20 years being a band.

And we do believe that - indeed, Prelims are the essence of partying. So to kick off Positive Jam weekend, we are excited to announce the Positive Jam Prelims Pool Party. The evening of Friday, August 4, we will be hosting a special party at INNESS in Accord, NY - a mere 10 minutes drive from Arrowood Farms.

The band will be doing a special storytellers set and also DJing some of their favorite songs (Most people are...etc.). You can also swim, play lawn games, hang out, see other members of the Unified Scene, etc. There will be food and drink available for purchase, and each ticket will also include an exclusive THS beach towel.

This ticket is ONLY available with purchase of a Positive Jam Festival ticket.

Come get Positive Jam started right and hang out for some Prelims with us at the pool. Sometimes the best parties start before the real party!
