Melotone

Pem is the project of Bristol based musician Emily Perry. Blending her rare husky voice with boundless vocal agility, she crafts a sound that hovers somewhere between folk and the smoky serenades of early sirens in music halls of days gone by. Fusing her stratospheric high notes and sweeping vocal leaps with husky vibrato trills, Pem’s haunting voice floats and dances up and over ethereal arrangements and intricate taletelling, lulling listeners into warm hazes of vulnerable contemplation.

Pem’s 2022 release ‘Songs About Hands’ was written during an intense year of psychotherapy training. A Diarist, dreamlike and hauntingly fragile E.P, it offers space to reflect and permission to indulge on what it means to touch and be touched.

In 2023 Pem moved to Bristol and immediately made a name for herself. She opened the headline stage at Ritual Union festival, was long-listed for the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition and Greenman Rising and landed slots playing amongst The Last Dinner Party, Langkamer and Rozi Plain.

Melotone

Melotone are a psych-alternative band from the Black Country, more interested in texture and ambience than ego. They draw inspiration from '60s psychedelia, namely the jazz-infused Tropicalia movement, with lulling guitar play and hypnotic vocals that float freely into Portuguese.
