C’est avec une voix singulière et une acuité qui touche à l’intime que la New-Yorkaise Cassandra Jenkins retranscrit ses observations du monde, en créant une ambiance pop et folk à la fois luxuriante et impressionniste. Musicienne chevronnée, Cassandra Jenkins a déjà tourné aux côtés d'Eleanor Friedberger, Craig Finn, Lola Kirke et Purple Mountains après avoir évolué sur la scène folk de la côte Est au sein de du groupe formé par sa propre famille.

Sa première sortie sur Ba Da Bing Records en 2021, An Overview on Phenomenal Nature, était constituée d’un set magique et presque spirituel enregistré avec Josh Kaufman (Bonny Light Horseman, Muzz), et a été largement saluée par la critique, notamment Pitchfork, qui l’a nommée Best New Music.

**SHOLTO**

Oscar ‘SHOLTO’ Robertson is a drummer, instrumentalist, producer & composer based in London. Growing up with a love for jazz, soul, kraut, and 60s & 70s soundtracks, his music expresses a warm array of colours, analogue instrumental grooves & euphoric sentimentality. His music career began in 2013, when a record deal took him to LA to work with producer Nick Waterhouse (Allah-Las) before returning to the UK & collaborating with the likes of Inflo (Cleo Sol), & Dan Carey (Wet Leg, Squid). He is also one half of production duo Sunglasses For Jaws.

Inspired by soundtrack composers from the 1950s-1970s like Piero Umiliani & David Axelrod, SHOLTO's debut EP, ‘The Changing Tides Of Dreams’ received critical acclaim from tastemakers including **Gilles Peterson, Deb Grant, Jyoty** & **Tony Minvielle**. The project balances unapologetic ethereal textures with a deep sense of nostalgia & longing, drawing on disciplines from the world of film & classical music, as well as jazz & experimental arrangement techniques.

In support, Scottish trio LYLO will be taking things up a notch with their pulsating, engrossing rhythms & shimmering guitars, conjuring up the glamour of Bryan Ferry’s Sensation era. Their latest album, 'Thoughts of Never' was released in May on El Rancho Records, fusing wonky, Japanese-inspired pop soundscapes with nods to R&B & soul, intertwined with ambient pads. The album was engineered & co-produced with Joel Patchett (Billy Ocean, King Krule).

Cassandra Jenkins, a veteran musician who’s played in the bands of Eleanor Friedberger, Craig Finn, Lola Kirke, and rehearsed to tour with Purple Mountains in August 2019 before the tour’s cancellation, spent months meticulously making her debut LP Play Till You Win. For Phenomenal Nature, she arrived at engineer Josh Kaufman’s (The National, The Hold Steady) studio with ideas rather than full songs – nevertheless, they finished the album in a week. Jenkins’ voice floats amid sensuous chamber pop arrangements and raw-edged drums, ferrying us through impressionistic portraits of friends and strangers. Her lyrics unfold magical worlds, introducing you to a cast of characters like a local fisherman, a psychic at a birthday party, and driving instructor of a spiritual bent. In their Rising feature on Jenkins, Pitchfork said: “The idea of decentering the self comes up again and again as a guiding principle… she acts as an ethnographer archiving quotidian sounds and conversations as much as a songwriter telling her own story.”
