TWIN NOIR is a Post-Punk/Wave/EBM artist duo founded in Berlin in 2021, consisting of Cody Barcelona (voice, electronics, guitar) and Ian Volt (voice, bass). Their music oscillates between electronically monotonic sounds, expansive atmospheres, and melodic moments, combined with minimalist lyrics in German.

The sound of TWIN NOIR is shaped by an analog tape machine, a sampler, guitars and a theremin, through which the duo creates their own blend of Punk and Wave music. Technoid beats, driving basslines, and atmospheres played alternately by synthesizers and guitars create moments that invite dancing, floating and drifting. The influences of both artists range from bands like KRAFTWERK and DAF to the EBM and Techno scenes, as well as Punk and Rock from the 70s to 90s.

Live, TWIN NOIR impresses with energetic performances and danceable sound. Their showis inspired by Berlin‘s club culture, Punk and Vaudeville, aiming to celebrate and manifest freedom, creativity and art. The duo began performing in Berlin in 2022 and has since played in 17 countries. TWIN NOIR toured across Europe, the United Kingdom, the Balkans and Mexico, where they recorded half of their debut album in Mexico City. Back in Europe, they completed the recordings at the „Portugal Recording Studio“ near Lisbon, where they also recorded their follow- up debut „2 Punks and a Tape Machine - Chapter //“ in summer 2024.
