HotWax are a band set on experiencing life at its most intense. In the past two years, the Hastings-via-Brighton trio – comprising Tallulah Sim-Savage (vocals/guitar), Lola Sam (bass), and Alfie Sayers (drums) – have toured extensively, including shows with Royal Blood and Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, and festival appearances at Reading & Leeds and All Points East.  
  
Out of this comes debut album Hot Shock (due March 7 via Marathon Artists), a record of adrenaline-jolted anthems about abandoning fear and leaping towards the future.  
  
The band recorded live at London’s RAK Studios, perfectly capturing the ‘explosion of colour’ energy of a HotWax show.  
  
The band worked with an all-female production team, Catherine Marks (boygenius, Wolf Alice) and Steph Marziano (Hayley Williams, Let's Eat Grandma), with additional recording in Joshua Tree, California. Sim-Savage recalls how Marks was drawn to HotWax after an intimate gig at the Blue Basement in July 2023. “It was the sweatiest gig we’ve ever done – packed,” she says. “Afterwards, Catherine said, ‘I need to record your album. It needs to feel like a party.’”  
  
These songs were made to be played loud and with abandon, but also have a vulnerable pulse underscoring them. It's this balance that could propel HotWax to become the UK’s next big crossover rock act.

HotWax’s debut album follows the release of two critically acclaimed 2023 EPs that launched the touring Hastings trio to ever bigger stages, playing over 150 blistering live shows in the past 18 months alone including Reading + Leeds, Mad Cool, All Points East, Download, support tours with Royal Blood, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Deap Vally and more. It’s the band’s incredible stagecraft and seemingly limitless energy that caught the attention of producer Catherine Marks (Boygenius, Wolf Alice) at Third Man Records’ Blue Basement last summer; “It was the sweatiest gig we have ever done – it was really, really packed,” explains Tallulah “Afterwards, Catherine came up to us and said, ‘Oh my god, I need to record your album with you. I want it to sound like the energy in this room. It needs to feel like a party.’”

Influencé par l’esthétique post-punk et le krautrock, leur répertoire inclut des compositions toujours efficaces, couplées à des paroles plutôt naïves, ingrédients de premier choix lorsqu’il s’agit de lancer un moshpit !

Le jeune trio originaire d’Hastings et Brighton a enchaîné plus de 150 dates ces deux dernières années, partageant l’affiche avec Royal Blood, Franck Carter, The Libertines, Warmduscher… Leur premier album Hot Shock, sortira le 7 mars chez Marathon Artists. Enregistré live aux studios RAK, il capture l’énergie brute du groupe, avec aux manettes les productrices Catherine Marks, Steph Marziano et Stella Mozgawa. Sur scène, HotWax réussit à concilier fougue et vulnérabilité, postulant ainsi au titre de « meilleure révélation » du rock britannique 2025.

Histoires de mythomanes, de poupées russes et de poissons d’or. Le trio marseillais Djanina sort en 2024 You killled me first, premier album aux ambiances nostalgiques et cinématographiques. Porté par un univers sonore empreint de froideur industrielle, les compositions de Djanina sont réchauffées par une variation espagnole proche du flamenco, donnant des live intenses et évocateurs.
