Funky Bonz came together in Tucson, Arizona in 1993, shortly before beginning a tour of the American Southwest and nearby regions -- a tour that still shows no signs of winding down. Funky Bonz immediately endeared itself to an audience as broad and diverse as the band’s music. They have remained a consistent favorite with audiences over the past 30+ years, routinely hand-picked as openers for hard-hitting touring acts like George Clinton, Funkadelic/Parliament, Bootsy Collins, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Fishbone, Weapon Of Choice, Awolnation, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Dread Zeppelin, Ozomatli and numerous others. The bottom line of Funky Bonz is that they don’t follow trends so they don’t fall out of favor, and their universal sound lends them an indelible cross-generational appeal.
