TRUNKS – Fresh into 2023 and South London based artist, TRUNKS, is breaking out onto the music scene with a fervour to make his mark. After a successful run with alt-rock band Little Grim, which saw the groups’ music amassing 100k streams, being played on Radio X and BBC 6 Music, as well as having their music featured on Netflix series “The AList”, TRUNKS is taking 2023 as an opportunity to push into a new sound.

Combining the guitar swagger of artists like The Strokes and Tame Impala, with pulsing beats and a vulnerable message, the music embodies a hybrid of organic and synthetic sounds; spitting poppy hooks whilst retaining a distinctive rawness that solidifies TRUNKS’ unique identity. The lead vocals blend seamlessly amongst the musical melting pot before shooting up into delicate falsetto sections, which sees them balancing silkily on top of the mix. The artist first found his passion for music at 15 years old, when he would spend break times at school slipping into the music department to practice playing with a few likeminded friends.

Hailing from West London, Eleni Drake is a talented singer and songwriter who's songs are decorated with a wonderful mixture of blues and jazz. Creating unique, vintage and gorgeous sounding ballads her brooding and moody songs are self produced and a clear view into her heart. Her writing exudes a sense of intimacy most song writers would only dream of being able to purvey, yet Eleni does this as second nature. Her songs are a late night trap of skilful nostalgia, solidarity and exquisite lyrics dancing between her jazz roots. Self admittedly Eleni is heavily influenced by Nina Simone, Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald which echoes in her sombre tones and soothing melodies. Her dreaming songs retain an air of edginess which no doubt stem from her being an avid fan of both Tyler the Creator and the late Mac Miller.
