The ‘Godfather of Garage’ (aka DJ Spoony) will be gracing our stage for another edition of Spoony's House, with 100% high-octaine UKG sounds all night, alongside some very special guests TBA.

Kicking off his career working for radio stations like KISS, Galaxy and Radio 1, DJ Spoony soon became instrumental in taking the UK Garage sound outside of London's boundaries, and eventually to dominate underground music worldwide. For all those that still remain faithful to the true origins of UK Garage, prepare to be transported into the heart of dance music’s ultimate genre inside our historic venue.

DJ Spoony’s Garage Classical

One of the original godfathers of UK garage DJ Spoony, recently embarked on a new live venture called Garage Classical, working alongside acclaimed composer and conductor Katie Chatburn and the esteemed Ignition Orchestra. Garage Classical has in turn become a force within the live and orchestra world’s with a string of high profile performances in some of the UK’s most iconic venues, including sold-out shows at The Barbican, Hammersmith’s Eventim Apollo, The Roundhouse and in 2019 the Royal Albert Hall.

Each show saw the original Dreem Teem member curate and craft classic tracks bringing out special guests including Ms Dynamite, Mike Skinner, Craig David, Paloma Faith, Emeli Sande, The Sugababes alongside a roll-call of the ‘who’s who’ of Garage Royalty including the likes of So Solid Crew, Heartless Crew, Kele Le Roc, Elisabeth Troy, DJ Pied Piper and Master Of Ceremonies plus many, many more.

More recently, Summer 2022 saw another ground-breaking moment, selling out Kew The Music, a 7,000 capacity outdoor headline show embedded in the glorious grounds of West London’s iconic Kew Gardens, before selling out two shows in April 2023 at the Royal Festival Hall, cementing another seminal moment for the genre.

This is an all-ages event (Under 16s accompanied by an adult, Under 14s accompanied and in seats).

On Saturday 12 July, Alexandra Palace Park will transform into the ultimate festival playground with an epic first wave of acts just announced: dance music icons Faithless (full live show) and drum and bass pioneer Goldie, house maestro Eats Everything, an interactive all-requests DJ set with BBC Radio 2's Sara Cox, and UK garage legend DJ Spoony.
