On Good Friday we welcome a part of Hip Hop history; a sample excavator, music historian, compilation curator and DJ! DJ Amir aka Amir Abdullah flies in from Berlin to play an extended 4 hour set!

A DJ with an unprecedented musical knowledge, DJ Amir is as comfortable behind the decks as he is behind the lectern, living to share his passion of music. His DJ sets tell a story and give context of different music genres, relating disco to house, jazz to latin and beyond, provoking emotion from the sheer mountains of music at his disposal, while never forgetting the vibe, dance floor and party!

Residing in Berlin, via Boston and Brooklyn, DJ Amir’s first claim to fame was as part of DJ duo Kon and Amir (who celebrate 25 years this 2022), a series of mixes which captured the spirit of Hip Hops golden era. This led to the duo signing to BBE for a further three ‘Off Track’ mixes and the beginning of his long-standing relationship with the London label.
