To commemorate seven years since taking over their five storey Victorian

residence by the sea in Margate, The Albion Rooms, The Libertines are

proud to announce their own curated festival, WASTELAND WEEKENDER, over

three days in September. Kicking off on 27th (Friday) at the Lido with

Britain's most exciting breakthrough band, Sports Team, followed by

acclaimed singer/guitarist/rapper Hak Baker 28th (Saturday) and a very

special ‘secret headliner’ on the 29th (Sunday).

WASTELAND WEEKENDER is a celebratory micro-festival of music and the

surroundings of the beautiful seaside town of Margate, with performances

across multiple venues: The Lido (1 Ethelbert Terrace, Cliftonville,

Margate CT9 1RX), The Albion Rooms (31 Eastern Esplanade Margate, CT9

2HL) and Justines (1-2 Marine Gardens, Margate CT9 1UH).

Having found each other on the internet after cultivating their individual musical abilities playing for revered underground London acts, bby upgraded to “real life” meet-ups to hang, write, jam, develop and produce their own gritty alternative sound out of their HQ in East London. The result is a blending of alternative and indie genres, where carefully crafted musical concepts meet freedom and audacity, to make music that sounds like the moment.
