**Supreme Standards** and **Bridge the Gap** bring B-ahwe, Madeleine, China Bowls and Verushka to Amazing Grace for a special, bumper edition of their residency.

**B-ahwe**

Now residing in South London after shaping her sound in Leeds, future soul singer/songwriter B-ahwe’s ability to tell intricately woven stories has begun to turn heads. With a focus on rich vocal arrangements, lush instrumentals and poetic lyricism, she’s been likened to a ‘trip-hop Kate Bush’.

Her versatility and arrangement skills have led to successful collaborations across different styles and genres with a number of artists. She has contributed her vocals to several projects in the last couple of years including underground UK hip-hop acts Lausse The Cat and Nix Northwest. She’s also consistently contributed to jazz-crossover act Yaatri, as well as featuring with London jazzers Pyjæn and Hospital Records’ Drum and Bass heavyweight Mitekiss.

**Jesa**

A singer, songwriter, producer & guitarist, Jesa builds her distinctive sound from a love for Afro-American music and contemporary soul. Training as a jazz musician in Paris led to her developing a deep understanding and affinity with rich harmonic language and rhythmic flavours, a toolbox used to full effect in her songwriting. Her music infuses soulful top lines with elements of jazz fusion and gospel, creating diverse sonic palettes with heavy, percussive grooves, expansive synths and a multi-lingual poetic flare.

**China Bowls**

Alternative soul singer/ songwriter China Bowls combines poetic and insightful lyricism with percussive guitar tones and soaring melodies to conjure a sound rich in feeling. Storytelling is at the heart of Bowl’s music and her warm conversational vocal guides the listener through intricate narratives exploring subjects including insomnia, gaslighting and the policing of female sexuality. Citing influences including Lianne La Havas, Julia Jacklin and Kae Tempest, her incoming EP First Light, produced by Upcycled Sounds (Feeo, Pecq) combines her signature soulful vocal with a broader spectrum of influences, with nods to folk, neo soul, jazz and indie.

**VERUSHKA**

Singer, songwriter and producer based in south London, whose music is a refreshing blend of alternative jazz and soul, electronic shades, conscious, honest lyrics and warm vocals. She has shared the stage as a backing vocalist with the likes of Aubrey Logan and Gabrielle and is fast becoming known on the UK jazz scene in her own right, following the release of her album in February.

Blending the sounds of the jazz and soul of her childhood with more contemporary electronic music influences, Verushka’s album ‘Not Even Bliss’ collapses a lifetime of London soundscapes into soul-moving, earthy compositions with a celestial twist. The album has received support from BBC6 Music and Jazz FM, with China Moses choosing the title song as her Late Night Track Of The Week and tipping it as ‘an album you have to listen to’. Pit London called her a ‘master of the future-soul sound’ and Imran Mirza from Twisted Soul said ‘If this isn’t bliss, then I don’t know what is’. After a sold-out album launch in February 2022 and performances all over the UK including We Out Here Festival, Verushka is looking forward to releasing new music and connecting with crowds in 2023.
